The Red Deer Food Bank Community Food Drive & Open House is happening April 25, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and we invite the entire community to be part of it!
In partnership with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Home Church, this city wide food drive makes it easy to give back.
Watch for your yellow donation bags delivered to your doorstep. Simply fill your yellow bag with non-perishable food items and leave it on your doorstep the morning of April 25, our volunteers will pick it up.

Prefer to drop by in person? Join us at the Red Deer Food Bank for our Open House! You’ll have the opportunity to explore the facility through self-guided tours available all day, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how your food bank operates and supports the community.
During your visit, you can:
Learn about Kitchen 49, our social enterprise cooking program
Explore Garden 49 and see how we grow fresh food year round
Walk through our Food Hub, where individuals and families access food in a dignified, grocery style setting
Check out our new dining room and event space
Purchase fresh produce and microgreens grown on site
Learn about volunteer opportunities and how to get involved
Enjoy some great food—we’ll have the smoker going all day!
Every donation collected helps feed our community right here in Red Deer and across central Alberta.
